On the early morning of 24 July, Armenian serviceman, conscript Volodya Galoyan’s body was found around 50 metres from his undisclosed military outpost along the line-of-contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan. An initial inquiry into the case revealed that Galoyan had unsuccessfully fired upon his superior at his military outpost at around 11.00 hours on 23 July, in an apparent homicide attempt. After failing to do so, he reportedly left his outpost and his body was found in the morning at around 04.30 hours the next morning, initial reports point to suicide.
According to military officials, the circumstances of the case are being investigated, no further details were officially released.
