Armenian soldier accidentally killed and two wounded by anti-tank grenade explosion in Martakert

Hrant Mangasaryan was killed by the explosion

On 04 October 2017 one Armenian soldier was killed and two others wounded as a result of an accidental anti-tank grenade explosion near a military base in north-eastern Nagorno Karabakh. The incident is currently being investigated by the military authorities.

The incident occurred around noon on Saturday, and took the life of serviceman Hrant Mangasaryan, a native of the city of Spitak in northern Armenia. Mangasaryan participated in last year’s April war and was to be demobilised in three months. He is survived by his parents and five sisters. The two wounded, Gevorg Hyusnunts and Sevada Alumyan were evacuated to a local military hospital, their condition remains stable and they are undergoing medical treatment.
