Bako Sahakyan visits troops on the line of contact

On 05 February the President of de facto Nagorno Karabakh, Bako Sahakyan,  visited troops in the northeastern region of Martakert and held a meeting with local authorities at the village of Talish.  He was accompanied by the  commander of the Defence Army (the equivalent to a minister of defence in most countries)  Maj Gen Karen Abrahamyan.

President Bako Sahakyan himself stated that the safety and security of servicemen, alongside public policies for their welfare and protection will continue to be at the centre of the Government’s of attention.

The aim of the visits to a series of military outposts was to get acquainted with the situation of the troops, their personal worries and feedback on important issues related to military service in general. Maj Gen Abrahamyan familiarised the President with the latest advancements related to renovations and other engineering works conducted recently at several local military outposts, new tactics and strategies aimed at furthering combat-readiness among troops, as well as their well-being during military service.
