On 4 May, a series of defensive military drills were carried out under the supervision of Nagorno Karabakh’s military head and defence minister Jalal Harutyunyan. According to an official statement, the drills included methods and techniques for the use of small arms and grenade launchers during combat for defensive purposes at undisclosed military training facilities, with special mention of the central military district of the de facto territory.
Emphasis was put on the targeting capacities of troops using such weapon types from trenches, with the 30mm AGS-17 automatic grenade launcher particularly mentioned. Additionally, the statement highlighted the role of officers in coordinating and preparing troops for such scenarios.
Participating in the drills, were commanders of different military installations along with high-level officers and the heads of smaller military units.
