The latest reports on ceasefire violations along the line of contact between Azerbaijan and Nagorno Karabakh. Azeri officials reported 135 incidents the first 6 days of March compared to 649 incidents during the same six-day period last year. On 27 and 28 February, the Azeri authorities recorded ceasefire violations with heavy machine gun fire (higher calibre projectiles than the average 7,62mm).
Azeri sources reported far less ceasefire violations during this period of observation compared to the same period last year.
In Stepanakert, military authorities reported around 200 incidents in their latest weekly report between 24 February – 02 March, with an approximate projectile count of 3000. During the same period last year, approximately 250 ceasefire violations were reported.
In contrast to these reports, Azeri military officials reported 173 incidents for the same period. No clarification has been given for the discrepancy between these two sources, which could simply be do to technical reasons. It i s worth mentioning that while the Azerbaijan reports ceasefire violations along the border with Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, the latter only reports ceasefire violations along the line of contact with Azerbaijan, excluding Armenians border incidents.
