On Saturday, 04 May, a soldier from the Nagorno Karabakh military was shot in the head by an Azeri bullet according to official sources. The injured, 21-year-old Aganik Zorogliyan was evacuated to a hospital and operated on, currently he is in critical condition. The incident occurred in the southern region of Hadrut near the line -of-contact.
Zorogliyan volunteered for the military in January of last year, up until which he had been living in Russia for some time.
This comes amid heightened tensions between the two sides, as less than one week ago another Armenian soldier was wounded on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan as a result of a border skirmish.
