Azeri Defence ministry publishes first numbers on ceasefire violations in almost one month

Today, 18 July, the Defence ministry of Azerbaijan published the first numbers on ceasefire violations since 23 June, when it had referred to the situation on the line-of-contact with Nagorno Karabakh and border with Armenia as “relatively calm”.

Today’s report stated that the Armenian side had violated the ceasefire on 25 occasions with sniper, as well as large-calibre machine gun fire. The areas mentioned in the report refer to the border with Armenia proper, as well as the de facto Nagorno Karabakh border.

Armenian authorities in both Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh have not commented on these latest developments.
